Who am I?

I have been jokingly called obsessive in my attention to details and the need to "get it right", an instructor once called me "a hyper-over-achiever", I am the person who gets the call because someone cannot think of a 5-letter word for today's crossword puzzle. I keep a work journal to record what I did, how it turned out, if I would do this again, and "What did I learn today?" I amuse myself by finding patterns in seeming random items around me. I parse telephone numbers to determine the mathematical relationship between different groups of digits. I am unhappy sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day, I love hand tools and fixing things. I kind of like seeing what makes something tick, too.

While I missed my initial opportunity for post-secondary education in my late teens, I have always been a self-led learner and continued to study whatever fascinated me. Built my first html webpage in 1995. Just because it looked like fun. Returned to College later as a "non-traditional student", earned a 4.0 GPA, worked parttime at the College, and kept my family life going. I felt that it was important to take the education opportunity available to me, and to succeed at it.
